Our home is pier built with a reverse plan.  It is not handicap accesible. We do have an elevator but it is not wheel chair compliant. There is a bedroom and bath on the 3rd floor living room, kitchen and main deck allowing one level living that is perfect for the less mobile.  There is also public beach access less than 100 yards from our home that is beach level so you don't have to climb any steps.
